This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Coming along nicely. What's that weird reflection on the tablet?

i think you should add the touch strips into the tablet. it is about realism after all.

Ok, so I added the touch strips, and I couldnt resist adding a Starcraft CD to the background. It was supposed to be pretty blurry, I used the locater -based DOF tutorial, but I guess I didnt place the out focus close enough.
I also fixed the fact that it was a bit lumpy, I cleared up the base mesh by a BUNCH, and I added the touch strips user added image user added image user added image
Took me forever to do... makes me mad :headbang: :headbang:
Anyway, the render took ROUGHLY 40 minutes, on 3.2 GHZ cpu, 256 mb graphics, and 2 gb RAM.

Cheers, user added image

Well... here it goes. I fixed some more lumpyness, changed the ground texture to a 2048x2048 wood texture, with an 0.07 reflectuvity. For my final and pre-final render, I will add a slight super-hi reslution noise bump map to mimic the realistic bumpiness of my desk.
I know I need to work on the reflectivity of the tablet, especially the part you draw on. It needs to be a whole lot less reflective.
I will model the mouse for it :headbang: next (next weekend)

However, during the week I can recieve some (or lots) of c&c. In fact I am asking for C&C now.

Here it is!

Check the gap between the outer edge of the tablet and the buttons. There should be more space there. also the edge between the drawing area and the outer border seems a little big or harsh but that might be the lighting.
Good going though, keep it up user added image

looks nice! the WACOM writting doesnt look central to the screen i guess it should be.
and yea although the render looks good, it does need to be way less reflective. user added image

To Tick
the gap between the outer edge of tablet and buttons is just perfect, but I noticed that there neeeds to be more room between the buttons and outer edge.
The outer edge of the draw area is indeed too big, its not the lighting.

To magicsy
Your're tight, the WACOM writing isnt centered!

I got a LOT of work to do... and not more then 10-20 mins a weekday to do it!

Yea now that's definately better. I think for now you should just remove that reflection. It throws off the model.
