This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with
complex objects.
I decided to dump the snowboarding project (mods, you can delete "snowboarding fun" if you want) so i am going to make a wakeboard scene. I made the board tonight (Hyperlite Parks Bonifay DNA 138 pro model board). I will add in some water, and give it a test render in a bit.. here are some pics of the board.
umm.. first in nurbs, then switch over to sub-d.. works like a charm. It is easier to make the board in curves, then bi-rail, and then convert to sub-d.
btw, that was just a progress shot, rendered with regular maya. still need some work on the rail textures.. but all in due time. Going to try to render out an image in mental ray.. and see what that looks like.
bindings look great man, you should turn the mental ray light down.

The back of the bindings look abit flat to me. Cause they should fit your foot, and your foot is rounded......but I dont know anything about wakeboards so.....
Here is a render with mental ray down a bit.. i think it could be a bit brighter. I also had the seabed on this one, with a couple see weeds and stuff. I will redo the bindings some time..
