PC

Hello,
I want to buy a new PC I have some questions to the people here who know something about hardware. First question:
Is this PC Ok / powerfull enough?

Siemens CELSIUS V830
Opteron 265 1.8GHz <--- Is "Intel" better?
4GB 2x2GB DDR400 rg ECC
Nvidia Quadro FX 3500, 256 MB <--- I think I´ll take 512MB
DVD SuperMulti double layer writer
HDD SATA II 250GB 7.2k
Win XP Prof x64 Edition (MUI)

Secuend question (already asked) Would be "Intel Xeron" the better processor?

Third question: (This PC will be only a work station) Nvidia or ATI ?

Thanks

Should be powerful enough, no probs unless your doing some realy heave stuff!

Think I would go for the NVidia as thats defo quailfied by Alias (check out the charts on their website)

I personally dont know about the Opertron and Xenon's, if you have a look on CG talk theres a thread showing the fastest PC's of the CG talk users with regards to rendering times with a set file. and I think that opertrons were at the top (they were dual opertrons, not dual core but duel processor) so you might want to have a look at that to gather some info before commiting.

Very thanks for your answers.
Ok, here is my final question for the PC:

please have a look at this graphic card list:
https://www.nvidia.de/object/IO_11761_de.html

Wich of these cards would you prefer? (Just have a lokk up to the ultra-high-end cards. The"HDSDI" are to expensive)

I also would like you to pay a special attention to the "NVIDIA Quadro FX 4500 X2" -card because it has special skills for Maya. This is the cart I would prefer. But I´m not a hardware speciallist; so my decision is just "instinctive". And because of that I would be very happy for some replies.
Thanks

Dont think you will go wrong with any of those cards.
