Odd geometry error ?! ?

Hi Guys

(yes me again)

I am experiencing this weird error when i try to merge vertices's. The geometry goes black when i render :/

here's a pic. Do you have a clue

This is not the first time this has happened to me, is it a general bug? or is it me user added image

hmmm,, i think i may have had this problem before, make sure "keep faces togeather" is checked on Ploygons > Tool options > keep faces togeather.
