Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

How to acquire such model without messing up everything

Hi,

My question is simple. How one can have such geometry without messing up subdivision surfaces and shading. I'm talking about the body(big cylinder) of R2D2. It's in the attachment.

Edit: Also arms and.. pretty much any ngon without supporting loops.
