question about skeleton

have a question about skeleton , i just learned about using locators and point contrain with IK handles for easy reset of positions...

i also learned about the hierachy for joints and IK handles...

my question is how do i arrange the hierachy such that i can move the whole body without the joints being stuck to the IK handles like this ( refer to pic )

am i suppose to put all the joints in 1 family ? and the IK handles in 1 family....

i want to be able to move the my whole body without the joints being stuck to the ground ...pls advise thks


it would be great if someone can post a pic of a simple human body hypergraph pic
