Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Nov/Dec - Norm - Blomkaal

Well, looking at some of the entries, it seems pointless to enter at this time, but I'll have a go at it anyways. And in the norm category this time user added image

I've deciede to make my cellphone, a Nokia 7710. I've tried modelling this a couple of months back using NURBS, but failed horribly! user added image

So now I'm starting over, this time using sub-d's this far, but might end up using a mix of both polys, NURBS and sub-d's.

Started monday and I've only been working a couple of hours on it so far. I've got the shape roughed out, so now it's time for tweaking and adding details. I also threw in a couple of basic shaders for the renders

EDIT: sorry about the image size, it seems my renders come out at 800x600 when I render them at 640x480 for some reason unknown to me...

I scanned the front and back and I've been using a ruler to get the depth proportions somewhat right. Having the actual thing in your hands makes modelling so much easier user added image

I'll try and have some updates later tonight...

Didn't get the update I promised last night, so tonight I'm back with a vengence! user added image

Just bought a bottle (70cl) of scotch whiskey (Ballentine's), and I don't plan on leaving my computer for the rest of the evening, execpt for toilet breaks and getting ice, so if I'm sober enough, I should be able to post an update in a few hours user added image

Oh well, I probably won't get much more done tonight...

Allright, another weekend with too much alcohol and too little Maya. Here's where I'm at now, mostly just tweaks done today...
