another clue and your all close
anti-ant, I hear yu mate, I have to go slog it out now too, and so its over and out for a while and back to the grind of making music for commercials, about the last thing I would have expected as an inspired and forward looking teenager (way back then) was to become a sold out old fart. user added image but one has to 'something' constructive rather than destructive in life.

well it felt good for 30 min.., this program is always full of surprises??

can anyone tell me why when I extrude edges it looks exactly like the tut from the front (using sub Ds in poly mode) and from the side looks different and is actually unworkable, cant scale it with deformation, blah blah, ect ect...

this side is fine

but what is this and how do I fix it.., tried until I want to smash the screen.., was very pleasant there for a while...

this is NOT how the guy on the tuts extrude edges is.., Ive tried new primitives, ect.., the problem only seems to be on one side,

It's the DT Female Android Subd Tutorial.

It's a pretty good tutorial but personally I generally dislike Maya's subd modeling with the intent for using it to develop a final model.

Why?

In a single word .... Creasing!

I cannot stand selecting 80 billion edges and individually creasing them only to have every single crease wiped clean when I switch between subd and poly mode! It is a major pain in the batukus to have to select and recrease everything on every round trip between subd and poly!

It's looking good so far. I am not sure why the subd surface is acting odd in the side view. I'll tinker with it in maya and see if I can reproduce the problem and get back to you.

Don't give up though. Have you tried converting to polygons, deleting history, and then converting back to subd? Sometimes history can do strange things when working in subd mode.

i will try that (history) , I fixed it (its NOT a fix) by rotating the upper edgeSSS 12.5%.??

must be history??

I'd appreciate the help, first model Ive had a serious go at in ages and I dont get past lesson 6?? words can not be used here about how I feel.., uni is tough and this is supposed to be relaxing (my whole life is tough.., poor me eh?? lol)
