Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Well haven't been here in awhile and thought i'd come back with a finished model user added image This is a World War 2 german Tank Destroyer, one of the most successful one at that.

total time to model would be about 20-25 hours

Enjoy!

Hey, this tank is really great!

I love the detail you have on it user added image. Is it one piece or many little pieces? And are you thinking of texturing this model? If you texture like you model then i'd say you'd have one sweet tank!

Billy_cat,
A side by side comparisson confirms that it is not the exact same model. Main differences are in the detail in rear of the tank. Have to consider that work based on common real world items may have been modelled before and that similarities are bound to happen.

Tyro,
Needs some roughing up to give it lived in/used look. Great model, what did you use for reference?

texturing process is slow, cause i'm not to confident at texturing.

You'll also find that there are a few verions of this german tank during the war, as with any other tank.

i had blue prints for this tank, its actually a mixture of the tank versions because i couldn't find one solid reference for a single version

one of my sons is a WWII enthusiast, so he made me find pictures of this on the net and we couldn't find anthing to nitpick about, the model is top quality and very acurate.

awesome model very detailed and clean looking. also i like your name it means a lot of stuff lol. shot in spanish, shooter in italian, and in latin it means young soldier literally but essentially it means beginner. not sure this is intentional but thats very modest of you user added image
