Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

hit F1 while in Maya and go from there.

Do the hammer tut. You'll then understand the extrude face.

Hi XK, yep like Ultragames said the hammer tutorial will explain to you why the extrude faces tool is used, I just did the tutorial the other day and found it very helpful, I'm working my way through all the tutorials in Maya atm, they're very easy to follow and explain everything very well.

Hey, XKalibur,

What was confusing about the Extrude Face? If I need to, I'll improve it.

user added image

mtmckinley, it was probably just me, after you kept extruding and expanding that object i kind of got lost trying to follow. You dont need to redo it though user added image One thing you could do next time is have the sound of the video a little higher, i really need to turn up my speakers to hear what you're saying.
