Default Engines

I finally finished all the modeling I think I'm going to be doing to this. Now the next step I need a bit of advice on. I want to animate it flying by a camera with a few valkyrie flying along side it. I know I need to model the planes first but my question is should I animate it all first after modeling or should I shade/texture all the models first? I'm not quite sure which step I should take next.

Anyway here are some new pics.

I had a fourth picture that showed a closeup of the Command and Control tower but forgot it at home when I came up to school to use the net... :argue:
