Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

"Concrete" Texture Mapping using Photoshop

I've been through Maya Help and I'm not finding what I need. Here's the deal:

I took a high-res photo of some actual concrete, and have created a single "tile" of it in Photoshop. I would like to place it onto an object and scale it down (quite small), and have the scaled down image repeat/tile all over the object.

What I've got so far is a Lambert, Color > image file (Normal). It's huge, and I'd like it to be very fine detail--so rather than one large, single image being shared by all the faces, I'd like to have many smaller tiles.

I'm not sure where to go from here . . . am I on the right track?

Here's a screenshot of what I've got:

Go to the place2dTexture node (under the texture) and set the repeat UV as high as you want it to be. Make sure you keep the U and V repeats at the same values!
