Catfish trouble

I have been working on a "cartoonish" fish with the looks of a catfish, but now I'm on the texture part and need some expertise advice. user added image

This is what i got to far, but i think that the colours just seem to plain.

theres a tutorial i think on mtmickinley.net for polly texturing its a greatt tut you should check it out
