Pirate Challenge..

Even tho im not entering the challenge myself, mainly due to time related issues, I got inspired.

The story:

My idea is to make a pirate captain, who once was the king of the sea. Now he is too old and too fat to conquer anything himself. I have this vision of him being carried when he has to board a ship.

This months challenge and the dwarves from the game Lineage II has inspired me. to make this character.

Tech info:

To tell the truth, then subDiv and I are not the best friends. But im trying to change that. So this char is all made from SubDs, except the buckles.

The following posts is step by step images, and I hope you like them.

A little more detail added to the surfaces. Mainly concentrating on the upper body, and general shape of the character:

I have started to create his jacket, also in SubD's .. im starting to get the hang of it now, tho I miss some of the ease of polys.. i.e. it would be nice to be able to extrude from a face when in a higher lvl of surface display, but it works ..
