Artifact help

Hi,
Im getting some strange artifacts during a render, the scene
consists of a single green glass on a plane surrounded by
a sphere with an hdri with caustics and GI with one spot.
The artifacts are large green spots 3 or 4 that are on the ground plane near the glass, there are also some within the glass itself.

Greatly appreciate any help.

Assuming that means you're using Mental Ray... my guess is that's refraction focusing... try manipulating your refraction index and see if it clears up.

No problem -- I'm guessing its go the same "Artifact" that light through a magnifying glass does. (You know, where the ant or leaf is)

Hi Phopojijo,

The problem turned out to be the photon level being set to
low, once I pushed that up everything cleared up.

Thankyou once again. Ribbons
