This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

Noise modifier in Maya ?

In 3DS Max there is a noise modifier - is there a similar deformer/function in Maya ?

No. I've seen a noise plugin somewhere though.

Anyway, I usually use my transformTypeIn.mel script for permanent changes. There's an example of this kind of use of the script on my mel tutorial here: https://kotisivu.mtv3.fi/karppa/pier.html (under the "Wear and Tear" title)
