Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

quick question about face selection

I have a quick question about face selection. In this tutorial I see the guy selecting faces, by dragging a box over blue dots in the middle of the faces. but when I right click the object -> Faces I get a diffrent way of selecting them. How do I get the blue dot method to work?

go to the preferences, there is something in there under selection i guess. don't have maya open to check.

Yeah, it is in preferences, in the selection section, check "select faces with" to "center".
