Maybe it's true for a new user in the forum but after a while you get to know the person better (as much as you can through a PC monitor) and the post count doesn't mean much any more.
I've only been here (as an active user) for half a year and I've learned to respect people for other qualities, rather then their post count.

I never look at post count, although i do look at join date when looking at peoples work to get an idea of how long they have been at it (obviously doesn't work on people working with maya for more than 5 years)

i'm guessing you're arguing about who's better?

both join date and post count are irrelevant

look at my post count, it's sky rocketed after half way through this year and it doesn't meant i know maya more than someone who's only at 20 post counts and using maya sinces it's birth

and also join date is irrelevant because they might have 4 years experience and only joined 2 months ago

zbrush is cheap... its the price of two 22" monitors

benny and elephantinc, you both need to upgrade to 24" widescreen monitors :p
you have no idea on the fun you miss out on when you have such small res :p

that's a "Ch" pronounced as a "K"

Computer skills I should have:
Objective C, C#, Java, MEL. Python, C++, XML, JavaScript, XSLT, HTML, SQL, CSS, FXScript, Clips, SOAR, ActionScript, OpenGL, DirectX
Maya, XSI, Photoshop, AfterEffects, Motion, Illustrator, Flash, Swift3D

I really don't have much to do on with a high res monitor without upgrading my whole PC.
My monthly income is about 0$ and with all the furniture being broken and replaced I don't think it's advisable to ask my parents for a new PC...

Me? Not at all. I'm not even arguing who's a better Maya user. Just the overall qualities of a person - nice/helpful/funny/original/spammer etc.
These are things you can't know by either post count or join date. (Though from both of them together you can usually tell how helpful a person is or how much of a spammer he is)

Peoples post's are like poems (literature) - it gives you an idea of the writer's character, no matter how hard one tries to hide it. It also takes stereotypes out of the equation.
