API for TRIMMED SURFACES

My second try to post this.
i'm implementing a data translator plugin. i'm starting off from a reading core and i'm trying to write into Maya. i managed to convert NURBS thanx to the MfnNurbsSurface class. now i'm have a hard time as i would like to do a similar thing but for TRIMMED SURFACES. i could find no sibling API to MfnNurbsSurface class in the documentation.
anyone has a clue?do i have get into the DAG? Please.
