USS Warden

Hi!

I'm an EVIT (East Valley Institue of Technology) student takeing Maya and 3D Studio Max. My dad served abord the USS Warden G.R. 18 during Vietnam as the radio man (OH YA. Save da whales!!). anyhow, the ship was sunk off the cost of hawaii purposly for target practice 'n' stuffs. I decided to model a likness of it in class.

*Note* Sorry for the size, this was rendered at EVIT and E-mailed to my home, I rendered it large for print and have no access to the model as it is here untill school starts up. I have no program like photoshop to edit it's size so it'll have to be big. it'll be the only one I have that is large.

Ok, Also I have started to make a spiffy little enviro to put my wittle battle ship in.

I want it to be a foggish type day with a calm ocean. But I can't seem to find a nice way to get the fog in, any suggestions?

Very cool man. Maybe make the front rail a bit more rounded. You could also add some pfx clouds in it. Or particles.

That boat is very cool indeed, good work.
As peltra said try and make the front slightly smoother.

Yes, i used reference images to make it. Just some prints my dad had of the ship a few different angles really is all it was. I'm planing to texture it later on the ground that texturing is not my fortae. wow i can't spell.

Also, I animated the boat in the enviornment. Here is a shot at frame 291. (500 frames total, 24 FPS) works out to be about 20 seconds.

I don't have the animation rendered yet. It would take a few hours. Lol. I'll try to get it rendered soon though.
