Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Animation Industry

i know that in some game studios, if youre applying for a modeller position they pretty much require you to texture and skin as well as the actual modelling.....is this the same with animation? do they expect you to rig the model then animate or anything like that?

Yeah, I'd say that animators are generally required to rig as well in many cases.
