Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Thanks for the replies guys and i'm honoured you think it's gonna be worthy of the gallery, even tho my aim is to make this the best mesh this side of ILM

I've also done the texture of the other side of the bridge section but it's not really worth posting another image coz it looks so similar

Great Job Man!!!!!!!

If it can't be fixed with duct tape and a hammer, it isn't worth being fixed... Unless it's my computer.

I haven't done much on this recently, and might not be able to for a while coz I was made redundant from my job, so i'm spending most of my time looking for a job and filling out bloody nasty application forms

I did manage to do a little animation of it (well, animate the camera past it)

I'm going for a kinda episode 2 efect with the glare off the hull

Animation 200k DivX 5 required

sorry about the low quality of it, but it is just a test

Kewl. But that white is highly reflective. Should be more flat, no?

Well, the glare effect was added in post-production in Shake

the film is a Star Wars fan film about a group of Jedi hunting down some left over Sith to cut a long story short

I've re-done the textures of the front cylinder coz I wasn't happy with it
I managed to nail the effect of chuncks of paint being chipped off to show the metal underneath
