Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Yeah, I also think he looks a bit stupid bcoz of the eyes. I dont think he's cross-eyed though, I checked for that. I think it may have something with the eyelids to do... hmm.. will have a look at that.

Hey Dj

I'll be completely straight here. Id really stop arseing with hair and stuff as the face still needs sorting proportion wise. I might sound off but you are doing a good job so dont lose sight of the bigger picture. I see this time and time again, do people do it out of boredom?

Looks like a very nice mesh, my only crit would be that the taper to the chin seems a bit to much. When viewed from the front, the head has an inverted teardrop shape to it. Does it match up the references?

try rotating the eyes about 3 degree outward...this should fix the eye problem.

thanks for the crits guys!

According to the refs the proportions should be good, but many things come in consideration, like perspective nad stuff when taking the photos. Also the perspective I render in matters, I also thinks the head shape is a bit egg-formed, I guess I'll have to go for what I think looks best, even if it doesn't match the refs.

Mchannon: what you mean exactly? Is the chin to thin?

Lookey: They are alrady tilted outward some.

Haven't worked on this for a couple of months, but I bought a Wacom tablet so I've started texturing, here's some progress on the bump map.

Thing added: specularity map, eyebrows, eye lashes and eyes.

Things that sucks:

eye brows - it's paint fx converted to polys, don't know why they come out grey. I'll do some googleing about hair rendering.

eyes: Don't look good at all, no "specularity spot" can be seen.

speculary map: is a bit high for the whole head
