MAYA File Compressing

Hi,

for a project i am working on some Maya Files, which I imported from another programm called CATIA. The converted files turned out to be huge.
Can someone help me with compressing the files within Maya so i can work on them faster?
Thanks a lot!

Tina

HI f50,

first thanks for your help.

I tried it, but there is no difference...i have heard about something called "simplify maya", but i can't find any information about it.

Have you heard of that? It is supposed to be a programm or tool which optimizes maya objects to a small format.

Greetings Tina
