Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Thanks a lot for comments. I'll improve clothes laters, adding details and wrinkles, for make her looking a kind of "epic" hero.
By the way, your work are getting great too, Legolas_hv and t1ck135, and it's a honor to receive such comments from both.

Here goes some hi res render of my wip in Michelle. I'm studying a lot of things about render and Maya PFX, that I've used to do her hair (yes, I know it's awful by now, but it has a million controls, I'll must spend some more time in it later). Problably I'll do the wings using PFX too, since she must not to be a low poly game char. By now, I'm satisfied with her overall progress. I still have a lot of things to do, so let's continue.

If someone her knows good tutorials of PFX, please let me know.

Very nice modeling. The hair looks great and makes an enourmous difference. I have no complaints. This is the best non-low poly right now. Perhaps just the best.

Coming on really well, definately helps having the hair there user added image

Are you adding the fringe? If so then the volume will probably be good, otherwise it looks a little too much on the crown of the head.
I really like the hair length down the back, gives her a wild, fiery appeal user added image

Hey guys, more respect with my daughter!!! I know she is a kind of spicy... But it's my daughter anyway!
I'm just kidding. I'm very happy you'd liked. I spent some years doing anatomy drawings, specially of females, and I think it was worthy.
I'm surprised you liked the hair... it looks strange too me... But after some work it'll be nice. Thanks for comments and cheers!

Joopson: Yes, I know my daughter has a beautyful but. And a lot of other "attributes"...

RupertFaraway: Thanks buddy. There's a lot of work to do yet, but it's very nice to know your opinion about her.

THX1138: Uhh... Who's Bob Ross?

t1ck135: Yes, fringe is lacking. It was my mistake, for some reason it appears in Maya window, but not in render... I'll find what's wrong, and then the overall hair volume would look as it should.

jramauri, Bob Ross is a very famous nature painter. He paints alot of nature scenes. He has a quirky little persona ( almost like he is stoned on weed or something ) He's always saying "now thats a happy little" ect, ect. You get the idea. He is like the last surviving Hippie celeb. It's pretty funny to watch him work.

Does anybody here knows how to map UVs in a Subdivision surface in a reasonable way? I'm trying to use automatic mapping, but Maya breaks the model too much. It's hard to recognize what's a foot and a hand. I'm not able to paint a good texture this way. It would be good if I could map a Subd using a poly for example. If anyone could help, I'm already grateful.

This time, I've spent a lot of time doing "invisible work" on my model. Since she wasn't the way I wanted yet, I did a lot of fixes in her. Her face looks better now, at least to me. I worked a little more in her hands, defining better the shapes and doing details, like nails. And I almost finished her clothes, except for the earrings, that are still missing. And fixed the overall look of materials, that are more believable now. And I've added facial details, such as eyelashes and eyebrows. I hope you like the improved Michelle Heart. I have to find out now how I can paint her skin texture. She's still looking a plastic doll, and I'm mad with this. I want her looking a real woman!

Here's the eye texture I've made for Michelle. I've never painted a texture for models before, and I liked the experience. I'm anxious to paint the full body texture!
