Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

You need to fatten the depth of the hand as its too thin.
The distance of the knuckles (and the rest of the fingers) from the wrist is too long.
I've just knocked up an image to try and show what I mean with the length

Face is looking much better, definately more hubba hubba user added image

The neck needs a bit more work. It looks a little too long and thin in my opinion to match the head, and from the lighting, the neck anatomy around the adams apple seems a bit off. Might want to look at some refference photos around that area. I did a little photoshop work on the head to show where the problem areas are. I lowered the head a little and fleshed out the neck and traps a bit. This is only constructive criticism from my part.

Oh, yeah! I guess I must not worry about her face anymore. It's not perfect but is good enough. So I can go on the rest of my model. In fact I'm working in the gun in wings by now. When I get something reasonable, I'll post here.

Dae: Thank you. I'm much glad to know my efforts were successful.

tick135: Great remarks. I have noticed the problem of lack of volume, but not the problem of proportions. You're absolutely right. Thank you!

THX1138: Don't worry about making criticism, buddy. This is exactly what I want. This challenge is being to me one of most useful courses I've ever take, and great part of this usefulness comes from coments like yours. I know I'm far from a great artist, and I'm here precisely to learn. Your posts are always useful and important to me. So keep posting! Yes, the neck is too strange, and I will work in it a little more. Thank you very much!

Your most welcome. I was afraid the pic I posted might offend a little. I'm glad you took it positively. Keep up the great work!

Looking pretty nice. Are you going to rig the model to place it in a specific pose?

babes and guns? man that reminds me of a website I once saw.... user added image

...anyways back on subject, the neck changes really help the head.
The hands are definately better too, there's still something not quite right in the first image. I 'think' it might have something to do with the width of the hand at the knuckles or that the outside of the hand (the edge leading to the little finger) might need a little rounding off.

This is turning out to be one great model user added image

Varley: Thanks. It'was really HARD to do hands. You see the number of corretions I've been doing last weeks? Fortunatelly, it seems it's coming to a end. :attn:

joed8349: Yes, it's part of the plan. But it will be just a basic rig, since I don't have the tecniques yet.

t1ck135: Thanks a lot. Another dude has said to me the same thing about hand's joints. I'll fix them today, and my fight against the hands will be over!!! (I hope...)

I got some suggestions:

- doesn't the thumb looks a bit flat?

-maybe u can make that bone in the wrist to bulge, I dont know its name in english, but if your right hand is facing downwards you can see it in the right flank, if you know what I mean.

- you can make a crease all around the nail, i mean in the place where it is atached to the flesh, or if you dont want to, maybe you can paint it in a separater layer of texture, as the one you are using now is a procedural texture, isn't it?

hey, they're looking really good. I have to make hands for mine now, not my favorite part to model ... I found this picture in a drawing book I have if anyone wants to use it for future ref.
