do a search in google, for "car wheel maya" what you circled there is pretty simalar to tuts on how to make mags for cars.


There's nothing normal about normals. In FACT i think the are abnormal.

Make a sub-d (or facsimile) cube. Select each face on the cage, extrude and globally scale them smaller. Extrude again and translate them towards the center of the cube. Delete the faces. That should get you in the ball park. Note, I dont have maya in front of me so you may have to experiment on your own but that should give you a general idea of how it's done.
