This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
This is a render of 3 objects: a candle, a recorder and a wooden ladybug. I know it's quite simple, but I was just testing the materials. Wax was the most difficult one, it is made with a Misss fast simple material. The other two objects were made with a DGS material.
I'm using Mental Ray, Final Gather and GI. The floor material (well, it's just a background, not a floor) is a lambert with occlusion. I'm using HDRI and an ambient light with 0 intensity, just for the shadows.
