Poligon/Joint_Help

Hello, I would like to know what to do so that when you click a poligon you select the joint to which it is attached instead of selecting the poligon.
Any help will be greatly apreciated.

maya automatically has a selection hierachy. meaning if you click where theres both a joint and poly visible, it will automatically select the joint, it has dominant selection so to say.

You could also go into the layer editor and set the polygon model as "reference" so that it is visible but not selectable. That way if your cursor is over the polygon model and there is a bone beneath it, the bone will be selected.
