This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

My only complaint is that the cloth is just too smooth. Rough it up with some larger folds please.

Hey Si

Dont mind at all! Cheers for that, I was going to look at the overall shape and tuck it in in some places, good job I can go back down the hierarchy in Z without loosing any high end stuff so it shouldent be a problem)

THX, yeah know what you mean, im having a slow time of it as my Z brush skills for sculpting aint the best at the mo, this is the first time ive used it for my own project, other than that ive been following some simple free video tutorials.

I'm going to try to rough it up etc as theres still some time left!

Cheers Guys

you could always try the mudbox 15 day demo for the sculpting part.
I played with it for half an hour doodling with the interface and watching a couple of demo movies and then went straight into sculpting my roman head. I hear lots of other people, even zbrush users, loving the ease and simplicity you can do the sculpting with.

Yeah i've heard real good things about mudbox, one guy I know's done some superb work with it, unfortunatly I think the problems more to do with my lack of experiance using a tablet and lack of using Z brush for anything! And if I start on a new program i'll get an ear bashing of the other half!

Well, squished him in a bit, still need to move the armpits up a bit me thinks and stared to try to get some more definitions on the cloak as per THX's advice, think the problem is i'm a bit scared of "getting stuck in" in Zbrush!

Cheers Marlon, Rendering the flames took about 2-3 min, the other renders about 3-4 min, Just because theres more geo, using mental ray.

Like I said i made the flames using a tutorial that I made (just a word Doc) a bit ago when I was messing arround.
