Bending and rotating

Hi guys/gals..

total newbie here.. using Maya 8 on windows.

if i get any object, and bend it, when i then rotate that object, it kinda bends again all funny..

Is there a way to bend the object and then be able to move and rotate that object keeping the bend the way it should be?

I'm trying to bend some text around a globe and then move the pivot point and rotate it around the globe.. (and of course it'll be all shiny and have reflections coz that's what newbies do user added image ).

All hints welcome.

ta

Did you use the bend defrormer? If so you need to select the object (not the deformer) and then delete the history, this then sets the bend
