How to smooth the polygons making a window.

Hi! I am new here. Just started with maya som days ago and I think it is very funny using it.

As I am totally new on it, I got some problems. For the moment, I am working on a church.

I have done the walls and the tower, the cross on the wall, and the backside of the clock.

However, I want the windows to be rounded, not as on the image. How do I do this?

I am also planning to make steps leading up to the tower but I am struggling doing so as well. Cant find a good way doing it.
