Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Yes, someguy, the model will be judged based on the specs you set for yourself. Also, since there is no longer going to be texturing in a part 2, if you wish to texture your models, I'll allow it.

I'm afraid my finances are really shot thanks to the tax man. I can offer a signed book or two if that's ok with everyone. I was thinking about also making some "web award" icons that you guys could use in your sig or for your site or whatever if you'd like.

And let's not forget that 3d print of arran's model...how did that come along, by the way? Is it still in the works?

Anyway, I think the idea of a web award is a fine one user added image

I like the web award icon idea, since there was no prize offered for this challenge.

Wait a tic jsprogg, you just gave me a great idea. How about we pitch the idea for the next challenge to be... design the official simply maya site award? It's just an idea, but I think it really sounds cool.

THX i'm not sure this would be a 3d challenge ,sounds more like a 2d thing to me but it might be able to work if Mike was up for it.

I'm okay with the not doing texturing. I'm wanting to focus mainly on modeling right now anyway. This challenge has really forced me to learn some things at a quicker rate and I love getting feedback from others. Rewards are great but even without an award, I would have still entered.

I'm surprised at how few people there are actually getting their models done.
