Old woman head WIP

Hi all,

this is a model that I did yesterday. I used an generic male head mesh that I created a while ago to start from.

The mesh hair is just to help get an idea of the 'volume' while modelling. I will look at Paint fx or fur for actual hair later.

that is real good. it is interesting what you can do out of this low head when you smooth - or did you made changes between the low poly to final version?

Thanks guys,

I used CPS poly tools (fake subd). The cage is the same as the smoothed mesh just at level 0, no editing.

Feedback regarding the proportions, basic planes, etc...I'm going for realism.

All feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Realisim is fun. You might want to add a few more wrinkles where the eye lid sags, 1 is just not enough.

I really like this model. Clever use of limited Polygons. You've got a lot of weight applied to her, and she really looks sulky! Great job with this!

If you don't mind me asking, how many polys is this? Is it all quads? Let's see some blend shapes and animate her!

Hi all,

Thanks for the critz so far. Am reworking the cheeks and lips somewhat. no update as yet. (yes I used cps poly tools)and lightwave also as it allows me to model/sculpt as fast as I can think which is great for getting the general shape/feel to a model. Maya needs better proprotional modelling tools and faster subd's. (just my 2 cents worth).

will try posting with the skin tut (tuts section that I posted) soon.
