Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Im currently redesigning my website for when i get a proper domain, along with my first proper animation online
heres what i had befre https://elephantentertainment.110mb.com

and heres the pre-vis of my new design (the pre-vis is made from content from old sites, so things like the title are not final)

I like the colors, it looks cheery and easy going but it takes too long to load, I saved a few images to check and one of your images is almost 1mb the others are like half that even though they're displayed on a small scale hence the jagges edges. You need to make your images a suitable resolution for their purpose.

i like the new design better. nice toonish look to it. although I might of used a different color for the "elephant inc" to make it stand out a bit more from the orage background.
The overall look reminds me of those sites digital tutors teaches you with dreamweaver. thats how I started sitemaking also.
nice work overalluser added image

What are you using to design the site in? Safari isn't loading some of the images for some reason. Here's the only thing I found on it:
Code:
SyntaxError: Parse error
https://elephantentertainment.110mb.com/gb_ajax.js (line 1)
You might want to change "models and animations" to something like "Portfolio", so that it's not flying off the button.

I'm not a fan of the colours, there a bit child like, maybe drop the satruation into more pastel shades so its easier on the eyes.

The images a re quite blocky at the moment but as you say you'll be having a look into that.

Is that what your site is (currently) based on? :p

On Topic:
The colors are very cheerful, so if that's what you're going for, no comment.
If you want it less colorful, I'd recomend chosing one main color for your site, and try to keep all the colors on your site only a lighter or darker version of the base color.

Looking at your pre-vis, I believe I'm talking nonsense. Just do what you want user added image

Is there a reason that everything on your website speaks as if you have a bunch of people working there? Isn't it just you?

Yeah
the idea is that if the website ever gets popular (HAH!) then people wont just think its run by a 15 year old
