Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

haven't stopped by for a while - sorry - some very nice work here mate! really liking the last piece - cool.

not sure about the alien guy - i like what you're going for - but i don't feel like the top half is working with the lower. the legs seem too long for someone that flabby. sorry if this has already been said.

nice work. user added image

@gster123: Nothing wrong with re-topo... I usual (as you can see before this model) model my head/characters in Maya. This predator model is a just a ZDoodle. A character bust... Purely for sculpting practice. No technical string attached.

anyway, i also have a few character ideas in mind, only this time I'm going to finalize the designs some more. do some sketching... you know.

@arran: Thanks. Yeah the alien was never properly designed. so when I started the character I only had a vague idea of where he was going. So he was subjected to tons of changes, and redesigns... so now all that's left is... well, a really tall fit but flabby, Short but tall, Human yet alien, practice model.

thanks again!

Oh, and gster. If you want to bounce ideas of me, feel free email, PM, or just post here.

Just as a warning there are lots of pictures ahead!

For a start here's an update on the Predator head:

Not much has changed, just some more details and a new Material.

I took the concept of the beast bust I did, and decided to expand it further. I built the body and a head in Maya, and imported it into ZB for detailing:
