Barbed wire?

Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to create barbed wire? I have a stone wall and I wish to have barbed wire on top of it... Grateful for help as always user added image

If you not going to see it close up you could use the paint effects one - if not you just have to model the knot once with bits iva end and duplicate as many time as you see fit
