Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

LOL, I see david went back to a 2 month challenge, along with a 500 dollar first prize. You cant beat that at all. Cheers david!!

Anyway, I didn't have a favorite toy as a kid. I did however have favorite toys', but not any one favorite. Sad thing is they are nothing I would want to re build for a CG challenge.

I really like your entry choice bullet. Hope you can win the big 500$.

Thanks THX.....build SOMETHING.....I had to LOL. Well the money would be nice mate for sure BUT for me its all about having fun, learning new stuff, seeing some GOOD work out there and most of all just chillin and NOT thinking about 3D for construction at work...which is a pain in the coight.

Ok I have busted my nuts this weekend, worked Sat and did some more on my baby girls cot (rubbing it back to bare timber...sigh)...AND did 2 parts for my USS Defiant over at Simply Lightwav AND getting in trouble with the kids AND doing (finally) the start of my car with MUCHO thanks to Josho for his effort in finding it on ebay.

I wish...but Im not...I had more time and of course was a lot better and faster at modelling like some of the people in this comp!! but alas Im a bit behind, nevertheless I am making an effort and thats what its all about eh?

cheers bullet

Well, I'm actually more fond of the vintage transformer toys today than I was back when they first came out. Back then I also had alot of he-man, GI-Joe, and starwars toys, so I never really had a favorite. Guess I could do a vintage transformer toy, they are pretty simple enough, and the franchise is still pretty hot today.

Car looks like its coming on ant, and nice renders to present. Can see the tutorials you did on the lighting has sunk in and has stayed with you. Good luck to you on this. You sound really busy.

I have actually managed to get some good progress done on my entry, and so far it's looking pretty good. I had to borrow one from somebody that still had one of the originals from 1984.

Well looks like my effort will be dashed...I have been given another sub division to Survey (estate) and another client has asked for 2 major carpark designs to be modelled as soon as I can. So in short I may not be at the finish post in this one...my apolgies but doing 3D models for roads/carparks pays the bills and is a LOT harder and more time consuming than this FUN stuff.....sigh

sadly yours bullet
