Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

No UV's, and infinite detail; however UVing this would be trivial.

LOL Gen I put the fellas in for scale. That texture was just to see what it would look like...I didnt edit it...just slapped it on for fun...its not permanent. Thanks Gen I like the model too.

No dave it aint Ramsay LOL.

Just this one Joey...and the game of course.

Yeh ND I will be adding lots of stuff not in the original ref.....LOL and yes it is working better now I have cleaned it a bit and turned off smooth preview...still duno how I did that but its fixed.

I will have to Google Ptex ND...interesting.

cheers bullet

EDIT : yeh ND I will be putting catwalks etc on 2 floors below.....not in the ref but I figured from an engineering point you would need access to the lower half for maintainence.

ND, how does Ptex = infinite detail? It's still a set of pixels applied to a face, as far as I know. Resolution dependent.

Okay, so it's easier to up-res specific faces for painting, but I still wouldn't say it has an upper limit of infinite resolution, not in the same manner as a procedural texture.

Sorry bullet. Keep up the good work!
