Complex UV Layout in Maya

Floors lights and glowing lights

Hey guys, so im new to Maya and im wondering how to make small floor lights or ceiling lights and glowing lights.. i have a picture of what im trying to make included in this post. any help would be appreciated =)

Here is what I want to make

You can just use a blinn shader change the colour to what you want then turn the incandescanse up then go down to tab special effects and turn the glow up .............dave

how do I use a blinn shader? like, how do I assign it to something? i want to assign it to a point light

Do the lighting seperate two or three spot light should do, assign the shader to the shape of the lights not the spot lights.............dave

Edit:if the light each one were shing on the wall I would do this differently but this should do for this
