Lights not lighting...

Hey so im trying to cope with lights here. i have a few little spotlights lighting up computers because i dont know how to do that glow to glow a light.... so i have to have spotlights aimed at them.. anyways. so im trying to add more lights like spotlights and point lights, and they just arent lighting. ANYTHING. its really starting to get frustrating. and yes, i have my lights on, not default scene lighting. its all dark except for where my spotlights on my computer screens are, even though i have a point light in the middle of the room... and its intensity isnt changing anything

I to came from lightwave so I do understand, maya is not as logical as lightwave in its setup or how it works some times. I would upload your scene so Genny could have a look she is one of the best on this site for lighting problem...........dave
