Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Model flickers in final render

Hey everyone, I just rendered my animation out a few times and each time I've got this strange flicker on my characters back arm. I've tried turning off auto-exposure on the glow shader, adjusting the near clip plane to a larger value, and a couple different materials but I'm still getting the issue. I have a video render posted so that the issue can be seen. ‪grem_walk_cycle.mp4‬‏ - YouTube

I have 3 spot lights with quadratic decay and one ambient light. I just rendered the scene out again with a lambert material and the flicker doesn't appear in it. Previously I tried blinn and phong materials.

Personally I try to stay away from Maya shader glow, it can prove to be pretty troublesome and not to versatile. Just a shot in the dark, it could be that the glow is popping on the phong/blinn highlights when the arm comes out of the shadow of the body.
