Pencil

sounds easy, but I was wondering how best to go about creating this >

problem is the transition from 5 axis to a smooth 50 axis cylinder.

any ideas?

Thats a cone with the points pulled down I think is it?

Ya I found something similar online where a cylinder / intersects a cone and boolean.

Its a 12 sided cylinder 6 of the side are flattend and extruded.........dave

Edit:doing it the boolean way would have a better reprentation of the pencil
