Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

is this possible

Ok so i have this wierd idea and i wanna kno if it possible...i was wondering if you could make a tool in maya to create a plane at the curent camera angle of the user. It would also creat the plane on the nearest object. I dunno im just lazy and am having trouble making hair with planes so i thought it would make it easier...

It sounds like you want interactive creation on. Go to the create polygon menu and turn on interactive creation then make the surface live (the horse show icon up top) and then you can create any polygon on the surface of the live object. Just like 3ds max

You can also hold the c-key or v-key down and draw the polygon out on the nearest curve of vertex respectively.
