Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Soldier Modeling Tutorial

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this.

However, I am looking for a soldier modeling tutorial in Autodesk Maya. If one has not been made in the world yet, can we please make it here on SimplyMaya. I would like the model created to be realistic.

Thanks
Nikhil Mehta

That's kind of like looking past a tut on how to model a realistic dragon and asking for one on how to model a realistic armored dragon, it would be a bit redundant unless you've never attempted anything like that and needed that model last week. There are lots of humanoid organic/hard surface modeling and texturing tuts around. With a solid grasp of the concepts, some refs, some critical thinking and patience you'll get your realistic soldier.

You can probably just use this tutorial by Jay and just tweak the facial feature I believe he shows you how to model belts and straps as well so just add a few more using these techniques and you should be fine. If you run into problems with realism understand that it takes a lot of patience and practice to get models to looking realistic. Also if you download the 2011 getting started tutorial package from Autodesk there is a decent looking soldier already made perhaps you can use it for a reference.

This is a good tutorial, the shading's cartoonish but it's just about pushing the textures and adding extra detail to get it more realistic. Here's the full body shot;

Also here's some feedback for this tutorial from other people who followed it;
