Why does everyone ask what the "best" program is? It's all a matter of personal preference.

I would recommend one of the following:

Mari
Bodypaint
Deep Paint 3d
3D Coat

I actually agree with you. I just wanted to start a discussion with people advicing the tool they personally use and write benefits, adv. and disadv. Was going to try Mari but on their website it says it only works on machines with Nvidia cards...

And also i havent used a 3d painting tool before. So checking the official web pages of the software developers wont be a good start, since they only promote their own products. For instance, Autodesk doesnt say; "Our viewport dont handle millions of polygons, so if you are thinking about importing something huge from zbrush try xsi instead, their viewport performance is better." user added image

Looking for people to share some experiences user added image

I don't have a lot of experience with other software but I also really like Mudbox for painting.

BTW @Goggles, I don't know you from another forum do I? I know someone with the same name...
