Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Thank you misterjackson for taking the time to create the video tut,
makes tons of sense, and easier to understand when seeing the actual interface user added image

ctbram, actually in the beginning of the tut he shows us the settings for the viewport 2.0, then he enables it in the interface

Thanks Stwert and Beast I guess I should watch the entire video. I thought it was 2.0 just did not see the text in the gui so I guess it was chopped off.

I am now more confused I went back and watched the video and I don't see where he sets the 2.0 settings? Is there another video you are talking about beast?

thanks MJ I know how to set it up I was just not sure if you had come up with something else since I did not see 2.0 in the screen. I do like your depth map settings better then the ones I have used. It makes the shadows look more like ray-traced which is what I had hoped you had figured a way to do in real time.

Thanks for the info.

ctbram, he starts on the viewport 2.0 settings about 19 seconds into the tut
carrying on thru to about 45-50 seconds into it I think.

anyone know how to save videos from youtube?
I'd sure like to keep a copy locally on drive for later viewing

No plans to remove the videos. If it's mine you're referring to.
Anyway. No time this week to do any more work to the rig. What I was able to do was sett off a few renders. The final gather hasn't played that nice and I've quickly cobbled it together, but it's a bit of fun.

Looking good the FG is crawling a bit like you said, pain in the ass when that happens.

Other than that it looks great.

BTW if your interested we recently integrated https://p3d.in/ into the forum. if you ever want to display anything that way

Thanks David, that looks really cool. I will have to investigate.
For you entertainment ... I have done a quick motion test. Lots of things come out of this that require fixing. But as always ... It's FUN!

Very nice I'm really liking the lift up on the feet.

Other than that it has a real nice movement to it.
