Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Twine Modeling

Anyone know a good way to model low-poly twine (example below) in a good adjustable format? I tried EP curves but they tend to be annoying to move properly. Any and all solutions are most welcome. Thanks as always.

I would use the CV curve tool and block out the shape, maybe duplicate the curve and loft between them or else use a narrow circle to extrude along the path.

Hi WhyNot,

WhyNot user added image trying to use a curve and doing the half of your jug and then revolve it? Se my picture.

@stwert Hello again! Thanks for the answer, wonderful. I used your circle idea and it worked just like I wanted. Thanks as always.

@lecra I was not actually trying to make the jug, just the twine around the rim. Thanks for the answer though.
