Looks.. Strange. What's the idea for firing system and such? And Why not have the scope on a picatinny rail/molded to the body? Seems like it would either slip off or not be too stable that way

If you're going to be making changes anyways, I'd recommend a cheek rest on the stock, since it has a scope, the user would need the extra point of contact to help steady the rifle.

Also, check out these for modern/futuristic weapons, if you need some ideas on stuff.
