Hammer of Mjolnir Handle

I have the hammer model pretty much done, except I want to add more detail to the handle. Right now, the handle is a simple cylinder with the stopper at the bottom. I want something like the silver bits of the handle in this picture: https://static.comicvine.com/uploads/...or_12x-lrg.jpg

I have no ideas on how to accomplish this though, and I was hoping maybe one of you did.

The attachment is a screen cap of my hammer.

Use a cylinder duplicated as a reference for another cylinder to get the curve top and bottom, then just a case of adding edges and change the shader...................dave
